Would give 6 stars if possible! The most attentive and resourceful team! I mainly worked with Berlin! She found an AMAZING 1 bedroom apartment for a short term stay for my partner and I as we move to NYC for the first time. Great transparency and advice while navigating the crazy process of finding an apartment in NYC. Would completely recommend :)

My friend and I got a 3 months sublease through Ohana in Cambridge-MA. We were super happy with the company's support, transparency, and efficiency. I have recommended Ohana to other friends and would recommend it to anyone needing this service. Thank you, Ohana!

Ohana is amazing. This is my favorite website to use when looking for a sublet. I have had a great experience. Currently I am in a sublet I love, it is such a great match. The process is smooth and easy, Ohana staff guide you every step of the way, like vetting out the host and subletter, guiding the live video call conversations, and ensuring payment is secure.

I was in between apartments due to my friend’s lease ending after mine did and I was absolutely lost in what to do for the interim. I have had multiple friends be scammed on FB marketplace when looking for a sublet and I was too traumatized by their stories to use FB. Luckily, I stumbled upon Ohana and I was easily able to find a short term sublet to move into while I was in between apartments. It was a lovely experience and I would highly suggest using it if you are looking for a safe way to find a sublet in NYC.

Amazing platform! As a Superhost and a person who does sublets and rentals for a living (I know all the other platforms), I can say that Ohana team is doing a great job. The website is very comfortable and easy to use, the customer service is great and I got help through the whole process. I found a nice person to sublet my room very quickly and for a great price. Highly recommended! Thank you Ohana 😁

My experience using Ohana was nothing short of phenomenal. The platform offers an excellent service for those in need of short-term subleases, and it truly stands out from the rest. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was set up perfectly and even personally assisted me when the landlord tried to withhold my deposit without legitimate grounds. It felt like having a private concierge, which made the entire process smooth and stress-free.

It was sooo easy to find a sublease for me and my friend through Ohana’s website! The process was easy and transparent! I tried Facebook first but so many scammers that I gave up but eventually tried Ohana and thank god I found something before moving out of my current place.

FAQs

Subletting is when a tenant rents out all or part of their leased space to another person, called the “subtenant”, for a portion of their lease. The original tenant remains on the lease and continues to pay the landlord per usual, but the subtenant lives in the space and pays rent to the tenant.

Subletting works like this: [ol][li]Decide when your place will be available and how much you want to earn[/li] [li]Get to know each other on an intro call[/li] [li]Agree on key terms such as dates, rent, utilities, and house rules[/li] [li]Sign a sublease agreement[/li] [li]Your guest, or subtenant, moves in while you remain on the original lease.[/li] [/ol] Platforms like Ohana make this process even easier by helping you list your place, match with renters, and keeping both parties safe.

Subletting is a great way to avoid paying rent while you’re away for an internship, travel, work, or a temporary move. Instead of losing money on an unused space, you can cover most or all of your rent, sometimes even earning a little extra if demand is high.

With Ohana, every sublet starts with an intro call so you can see the place live, meet the host, and feel confident before committing. Plus, Ohana holds the security deposit throughout the stay and only release rent to the host after confirming you’ve moved in successfully.

To find someone to sublet your place, start by creating a compelling listing with clear photos, a helpful description, and accurate availability dates. Ohana then promotes your listing across its platform, daily sublet newsletters, and social channels to help you attract interest quickly. Be sure to respond promptly to inquiries and schedule your intro call as soon as possible. People looking for a sublet often make a decision fast!

Ohana helps you find a sublet quickly by showing you up-to-date, verified listings and letting you filter by dates, budget, neighborhood, and amenities to match your needs. Every sublet starts with an intro call, where you can get a live tour, meet the host, and confirm the space before booking. Once you’re ready to move forward, Ohana provides a custom sublease agreement to keep everything clear and documented.

Ohana requires using a sublet agreement, which keeps both parties aligned on key details like who’s responsible for utilities, the rent amount, and any specific house rules. To make things easy, Ohana automatically generates a custom sublease agreement for each booking.
